SAFE PLACE 2022

The 5th National Scientific and Technical Congress SAFE PLACE 2022, titled “Security of Public Utility Buildings and Critical Infrastructure. Terrorism and Other Threats,” was held from October 17-19, 2022, at the Hotel Kuźnia Napoleońska in Paprotnia near Warsaw.
The anniversary edition of SAFE PLACE boasted honorary patronage from the Director of the Government Security Center, the Chairman of the Financial Supervision Commission, the Director of CEPOL, the Rector-Commandant of the Military University of Technology in Warsaw, the Rector-Commandant of the Police Academy in Szczytno, the Rector-Commandant of the Main School of Fire Service, the Rector of the Higher School of Public and Individual Security in Krakow, the Western Institute, and the Office of Rail Transport.
The first day of the SAFE PLACE 2022 Congress concluded after seven sessions, which included seven expert panels and eight individual presentations. As in previous editions, two parallel scientific sessions were held. Additionally, thanks to the courtesy of the Commander of the Independent Counter-Terrorism Police Unit in Warsaw, the organizers prepared a presentation of vehicles, equipment, and specialized police gear for the participants. Attendees also had the opportunity to participate in an air rifle shooting competition.
The second day's agenda at the Congress extended beyond theoretical discussions. Practical workshops on security and response to attacks were also conducted. Participants were divided into four training groups, each focusing on different thematic areas. Each group rotated through all workshop modules, each lasting 60 minutes. During the workshops, participants collected stamps, which entitled them to participate in a prize draw during the gala banquet. The workshops covered four training modules on selected techniques for responding to attacks, first aid in response to attacks, internal security, and external security of buildings in the context of utilizing technical safeguards.
The third day of the SAFE PLACE 2022 Congress began with two parallel expert panels focusing on physical protection and technical security measures. This was followed by the final scientific session, which addressed selected issues related to the security of public utility buildings.
The event gathered nearly 400 participants and 18 technical partners presenting the latest security solutions.
